Overview


Pharming Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an innovative and results-driven leader to join our organization as an Associate Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR). The Associate Director of HEOR will lead efforts to generate and communicate evidence that drives product value, informs access strategies, and supports global decision-making for Pharming’s innovative therapies. This position will be responsible for developing and executing robust health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology and real-world evidence plans that are aligned with medical affairs strategies, clinical development plans, and commercial strategies to support product value propositions and optimize market access. Successful execution will involve aligning HEOR initiatives with patient-centric goals, advancing Pharming’s mission to improve lives while supporting clinical, medical, and commercial objectives. This is a remote opportunity.





Key Responsibilities


The Associate Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) will be responsible for a wide variety of matters in support of Pharming’s growth as we increase the number of both pipeline and marketed products.


Core functions include:


Strategic Leadership & Value Demonstration

  • Lead the development and implementation of the overall HEOR strategy for multiple products/indications.
  • Proactively identify and address key evidence gaps and competitive threats.
  • Develop strategic approaches to communicate product value to stakeholders, including payers, HTA agencies, and clinicians.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment by providing strategic input into clinical development, medical affairs, and market access plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal (e.g., global cross-functional teams) and external stakeholders (e.g., key opinion leaders, research institutions).

Evidence Generation

  • Lead HEOR research activities for multiple indications, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
  • Lead the development and implementation of robust real-world evidence studies, economic models, clinical outcome assessments (COAs) and other relevant research to meet value evidence needs of clinicians, payers, policymakers, health technology assessment agencies, and health systems.
  • Develop and validate clinical outcome assessments (COAs), integrating them into clinical trial endpoint hierarchies and aligning with regulatory requirements to support development programs.
  • Ensure evidence generation is conducted with a high-level of scientific rigor and is in strategic alignment with cross-functional teams in clinical development, market access, marketing, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, and safety.
  • Identify new HEOR research opportunities to advance value demonstration.

Evidence Dissemination and Communication

  • Oversee the development of high-quality publications, posters, and presentations to communicate HEOR findings effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to package HEOR insights into field materials that address payer and stakeholder priorities.
  • Ensure timely and impactful dissemination of evidence through relevant channels.



Minimum Qualifications


PhD in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, or related field and 3+ years HEOR experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare sectors

OR

Master’s Degree/PharmD in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, or related field and 6+ years of HEOR experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare sectors.



Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong knowledge of HEOR methodologies, statistical analysis, and real-world evidence generation, with proven track record of designing and leading successful, scientifically robust HEOR studies.
  • Proven experience in developing and validating COAs, including integrating COAs into clinical trial endpoint hierarchies and engaging with regulatory agencies to inform clinical development programs.
  • Strong understanding of the US market access landscape; familiarity with global reimbursement processes is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to distill complex clinical and economic data into clear, impactful messages.
  • Ability to work successfully under pressure in a high-functioning, fast-paced global business environment and with tight timelines.
  • Ability to be proactive, enthusiastic and goal orientated.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of effectiveness as a team player.
  • Excellent project leader who can effectively manage multiple competing priorities to completion.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed for meetings, congresses, and other commitments.



Salary Range


Pharming takes into consideration a combination of candidate’s work experience, training, and education, as well as the scope of the role, complexity, and external market and internal value when determining a salary level.


The base salary range for this job is from $180,000.00 TO $197,000.00 per year.
