About the Opportunity

Are you ready to join the Consumer Team at AutoUncle and drive the technical evolution of our user-facing websites while delivering exceptional customer experiences? As a Staff Engineer and the team’s Tech Lead, you are comfortable speaking with customers and users. You will advocate for the company’s product vision and user needs while collaborating with engineers to craft high-quality, scalable and strategically aligned solutions.

Working closely with the Product Manager and Designer as part of the team’s Triad under the ShapeUp framework, you’ll take the lead in discovery, shaping bets and overseeing successful implementations. You’ll be the glue that holds the team together, fostering collaboration, inspiring your teammates, and ensuring great teamwork as you define the direction for frontend excellence, nurture internal mentorship, and drive technical innovation.

What You’ll Do:

• Strategize and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performance systems using React and Next.js.
• Mentor and guide engineers, promoting professional growth and technical mastery.
• Shape technical solutions that align with business goals, balancing innovation with scalability.
• Address complex technical challenges while contributing hands-on to code daily.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to create seamless, impactful user experiences.
• Partner with customers to understand their needs and translate insights into meaningful improvements.

What You’ll Bring:

• Proven heavy experience with React, Next.js, and other modern frontend technologies.
• Strong familiarity with backend frameworks like Ruby on Rails or other MVC technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building user-centric applications.
• Exceptional English communication skills both in text and speech.
• A track record of mentoring and leading high-performing teams.

Compensation: Starting range between €8-9K/month
