About the Role


As the Senior Accountant, you will be a valued member of the fully remote Family Office Accounting team, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor. With daily transactions and operations across a variety of countries and industries, this role offers a breath of accounting experience and the ability to learn and grow. You will gain valuable skills in a fast-paced environment that encourages growth. This position involves:


  • Fully cycle month end accounting
  • International treasury management
  • Consolidation and intercompany transactions
  • Intangible assets
  • Manufacturing and inventory
  • Real estate development
  • Investments and financial instruments
  • Financial reporting, budgeting and management reporting
  • Controls, process, and system improvements

Responsibilities


  • Prepare and record month-end accounting transactions including consolidation and eliminations, intangible assets, manufacturing inventory, investments, stock-based compensation and more.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports for multiple business divisions and ventures within the company.
  • Create necessary documentation and collaborate with external auditors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial statement audits.
  • Compile and prepare reports, analyses, and documents to support quarterly and annual tax and statutory filings, ensuring compliance with local and international requirements.
  • Assist with corporate treasury management, including administration of corporate credit cards, bank accounts, and investment accounts to support efficient financial operations.
  • Contribute to preparing budgets for various business divisions and ventures. Perform budget-to-actual analyses to support strategic decision making.
  • Assist team members with payroll and benefits administration, both local and international, as needed.
  • Collaborate in managing accounting and financial systems, including vendor data, general ledger accounts, accounting modules, user access, and custom reports, ensuring accurate and well-organized system data.
  • Be a key team member in driving efficiencies via process improvements, process documentation, data cleanup projects and system implementations leveraging new and existing software to level-up accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule while working from home as required for a fully remote workforce with individuals working from across the globe


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in business with a major in accounting or finance; CPA designation required.
  • 3-4 years of combined experience working in full cycle accounting. Audit experience considered an asset.
  • Experience with technical or complex accounting topics under IFRS or US GAAP such as consolidation, intangible assets, manufacturing inventory, business combinations, investments, stock-based compensation or similar standards.
  • Experience using mid-sized accounting software (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, Intacct, etc.) or similar accounting software.
  • Experience preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements under IFRS or US GAAP.
  • Experience working with intricate multi-entity and multi-currency consolidated organization structures.
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with team members in different time zones.
  • Dynamic personality, comfortable with changing environments to support a growing organization.
  • Proactive self-starter, able to make assumptions and drive results both independently and as part of a team.
