Job Summary

The successful candidate for this position will be joining our Commercial Electrical Engineering Team. The main focus of this role will be designing and reviewing the electrical elements of the permit packages and construction drawings for commercial solar projects in the United States and working with a team of solar designers. These elements include line diagrams, site plans, elevations, DC stringing, electrical calculations, and more.

We are looking for a candidate who: has excellent problem-solving skills; is an independent worker with a collaborative mindset; has excellent time management skills; has a technical background and skills such as AutoCAD; and has excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Complete electrical designs for commercial-scale PV projects (Interconnection packages, Issued for Permit / Issued for Construction packages, As-Builts, etc.)
Work with clients and revise projects to meet their needs
Assist with updating and maintaining protocol documentation
Perform Commercial Electrical Morning Checks
Provide feedback to commercial electrical reviewers and team lead on time-consuming aspects of the electrical design process to help drive efficiency improvements
Assist the team lead with administrative tasks

Standard Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm EST

Key Requirements

Engineering degree
A few years of recent AutoCAD experience is highly desirable
Experience completing electrical designs for PV systems is considered an asset, particularly commercial solar, though any PV experience is valuable
Experience with energy storage systems considered an asset
Extensive knowledge of the NEC and its application to PV systems is an asset
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong project management skills
