Description

As our Print Book Sales and Translation Rights Manager for APAC, you'll be at the forefront of driving print book revenue and managing translation rights sales. You'll play a crucial role in supporting Emerald's objectives and book sales targets. This involves working closely with sales agents and customers, analysing market trends, and making informed commercial decisions.
Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.

Day to day you'll be responsible for:
Revenue Growth: Oversee the consistent growth of territory revenues through direct and indirect sales. Work with existing customers, identify new accounts, and build key account plans. Research competitor activity and market trends to uncover new business opportunities.
Agent Management: Maximise the contribution of print agents by maintaining strong relationships, setting sales targets, and collaborating with local distributors.
Event Representation: Ensure Emerald Books are well-represented at relevant bookfairs and conferences, and promote our titles across the territory.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with key stakeholders at Emerald, including the Publishing Team, Production Department, Marketing Teams, and Regional Sales Teams, to ensure the commercial success of our books.
Contract Management: Overseeing translation rights negotiations and managing the entire contract process from start to finish.
Promotion Creation: Develop subject area promotions, core stock promotions, and backlist promotions. Create bespoke marketing pieces and special discount offers while maintaining margins.
Adoption Programme: Lead our adoption programme by managing title selection, inspection copy requests, and instructor manual fulfilment. Identify potential new adoptions based on market intelligence.
Administrative Tasks: Handle buyback and bulk order management, account maintenance, key account returns requests, core stock reporting, and more.
You’ll need to have:
Skills: Decisive and assertive, strong communication and negotiation skills, well-developed organisational abilities, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Experience: Sales experience in print and digital products within the publishing industry, managing sales agents and distributor networks, and selling rights.
Attributes: Commercial acumen, self-motivated, results-focused, and a high customer service ethic. Ability to adapt to change and acquire new skills.
