The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Texas A&M University-Central Texas (A&M-Central Texas) invites applications from highly effective educators to start in the fall of 2025 as an experienced Assistant or Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems in the Subhani Department of Computer Information Systems. Applicants must have at least six years of experience as Assistant Professors to be eligible for the rank of Associate Professor.
This is truly an exciting time to join our faculty, as the department is experiencing a lengthy period of sustained growth, and COBA saw a record semester credit-hour enrollment this spring. We have a new, visionary President, Dr. Richard Rhodes, who led the creation of a new strategic plan, and our new Provost, Dr. Clifton Jones, started January 2nd. In recent years, we have established a Center for Cybersecurity Innovation (CCI), received AACSB accreditation in the spring of 2023, and will begin pursuing ABET accreditation this year. In addition to our main emphasis on quality instruction, CIS faculty have been very active in securing government contracts and grants, with millions of dollars in institutional awards and several individual federal-related grants of over $100,000 over the last several years.
The faculty member selected will provide excellent instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate courses in programming, data communications, computer networking (preferred), database management, cybersecurity, and other related areas in computer information systems as determined by department needs and individual qualifications. The teaching load will likely be three courses per term, depending on the number of different course preparations and qualifications. They will be delivered in various modalities, including face-to-face, entirely online, and/or multi-modal (synchronous and asynchronous in the same section). The faculty member will be expected to perform the duties regularly expected of a faculty member, including, but not limited to, meeting their courses as scheduled, holding regular office hours per COBA policy, attending COBA and department meetings, and submitting syllabi and attendance verification on time. This position will also be expected to serve on departmental, college, and university committees and maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) status as described in COBA’s Faculty Qualifications policy.
