About the Team:

The Product Marketing and Go-to-Market Strategy team at Axonius brings together the key messaging experts across the company, including product marketing, brand, content marketing, customer marketing, and communications to build, enable, and deliver the core Axonius mission, vision, and differentiation to our customers and prospects through collaboration with the broader marketing, sales, and product teams. About the Role:

As the Head of Competitive Intelligence and Marketing (CIM), you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and leveraging competitive intelligence to inform and optimize marketing strategies, field enablement, and product development. This role requires a data-driven, analytical, and strategic mind with a passion for understanding market trends, technology differentiation, and competitor activities. Initially, this role will be an individual contributor, but will lead the team as additional headcount is assigned over time to the function. Your role will be pivotal in driving field engagement, building deep subject matter-driven competitive intelligence, and enhancing the Axonius competitive positioning within the market, including influencing win rates and supporting strategic accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Competitive Landscape Analysis: 
    • Conduct in-depth research on competitors, including their products/services, pricing, marketing strategies, target personas, and market share.
    • Monitor competitor activities, including new product launches, technology innovations, marketing campaigns, partnerships, pricing changes, and public relations efforts.
    • Identify competitor strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis).
    • Inform product development and marketing positioning decisions based on competitive intelligence.
  • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Analyze market trends, including emerging technologies, customer behavior, and industry regulations.
    • Identify potential market opportunities and threats.
    • Track key technology innovations in the market that intersect with the Axonius position in the market.
  • Competitive Intelligence Field Enablement:
    • Prepare regular reports and dashboards summarizing competitive intelligence findings, including win/loss analysis on Axonius opportunities.
    • Communicate key findings to Marketing, Product, and Field teams as well as other relevant stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with the Revenue Enablement team to infuse competitive content across curriculum and partner on enablement strategy and delivery.
    • Present actionable insights and recommendations, including appropriate job aids for sales and technical teams, to improve competitive selling tactics and improve win rates.
    • Identify and leverage competitive advantages to differentiate Axonius in the market.
    • Implement a robust feedback loop with the field to gather competitive intelligence from the front lines that can be incorporated back into overall competitive strategy
    • Develop strategies to mitigate competitive threats.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a competitive intelligence, market research, or competitive marketing role. Experience as a sales engineer or software engineer is a strong plus.
  • Experience in the cybersecurity industry, with a focus on SIEM, vulnerability management, attack surface management, threat detection and response, and related markets preferred.
  • Proven experience in conducting competitive research and analyzing competitive landscapes.
  • Experience and passion for engaging with sales teams to help drive competitive advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with doing product teardowns and competitive comparisons at a technical level a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to different audiences, both technical and executive.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with competitive intelligence software (e.g., Crayon, Klue, etc.) and enablement platforms (Highspot, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and data visualization skills using tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.

$190,000$220,000 USD
