Required:
High School Diploma/GED
Must be a Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program or
one year of previous experience as a Surgical Scrub Technologist.
Excellent communication skills
Strong work ethics, and accountability.
Preferred:
2 years of previous experience as a Surgical Scrub Technologist with current BLS.
Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).

Responsibilities:
Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment for assigned cases.
Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for use.
Ensures that the instruments are cleaned arranged and transported to the soiled utility room according to department policy; independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits; Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day’s cases; Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects.
Admits and discharges patients, ensure front desk logs and phone books are maintained, and manage infant security system alarms as needed.
Sets up rooms in preparation for new admissions, ensure ante-rooms and patient rooms are stocked and complete other duties as assigned.
Utilizes available communication tools; demonstrates teamwork by offering assistance to other team members; Shares knowledge information and expertise with other staff; attends departmental in-services and other educational offerings; consistently demonstrates new knowledge and skills through incorporation into actual clinical practice.
Participates in continuing education by completing the required staff development hours annually and in professional/institutional advancement of self and co-workers.
