Social Media Specialist
What We Seek
At Carnegie Learning, we’re disrupting the K-12 education space with solutions that push boundaries, explode tradition, and produce real results. We’re leading the charge in equipping educators and students with modern, effective solutions to the challenges of today and tomorrow, with solutions for math, ELA, world language, tutoring, and professional learning. And we need your help to get the word out.
We’re looking for a social media specialist who can shape a vision and bring it to life. A content creator who knows how to delight, inform, and convert. A videographer and photographer who loves to be in the action, capture moments, and edit them into a compelling story. An educator–or an education lover–who knows what K-12 educators want to consume when they’re scrolling and keep them coming back for more. If that’s you, join our team and get ready to do the best work of your career.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Brainstorm, plan, and create photo, video, and copy content to tell the Carnegie Learning story and increase brand awareness and engagement with K-12 educators in both the U.S. and Canada.
- Create and maintain content calendars to promote brand awareness and engagement on Instagram, Twitter (or X, for now), LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Cover events at various locations, including national trade shows and Carnegie Learning events, to create captivating and immersive social media experiences that resonate with our audience
- Shoot and edit video content to increase engagement and followers across all platforms
- Produce performance reports and track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability and to meet or even exceed KPI goals.
- Keep up with the latest trends and conversations, especially in K-12 education circles, and situate our brand as an active, relevant participant.
- Engage with comments, direct messages, posts we’re tagged in, and posts we’re not tagged in, all in the Carnegie Learning voice.
- Help drive the success of paid social campaign strategy.
- Monitor Facebook groups, respond as needed, and help grow the communities.
What Should Be In Your Bookbag
- Bachelor’s degree in digital communication, advertising, or education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience managing and creating content for corporate social media accounts, preferably in the K-12 education industry
- Experience managing corporate accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Demonstrated proficiency with shooting and editing video content that garners high views and engagement.
- Experience with capturing compelling footage for corporate event coverage or other photo/video opportunities.
- Experience setting and tracking KPIs, tracking audience engagement, and campaign performance using social media analytics tools.
- Experience with social media management tools, such as Mention, Loomly, and Hubspot.
- Experience facilitating and growing Facebook Groups
- Impeccable organizational and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to set and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Preferably has proven success in creating content for K-12 educators that is optimized and differentiated to resonate with the specific audiences of each platform
