Responsibilities
This is a remote position.
The System Clinical Informaticist provides guidance on integrating clinical content, workflows, and operational processes into the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and supports all related clinical technologies. This role collaborates closely with clinical, technical, and operational teams to ensure that EHR and technology solutions align with best practices, organizational goals, and regulatory standards. Serving as a key consultant, the System Clinical Informaticist provides expert recommendations to leadership at both the facility and system levels, driving the successful adoption, optimization, and utilization of EHR functionalities and related technology applications.
Key Responsibilities
Consultation and Stakeholder Support: Serve as a key consultant and liaison to clinical, operational, and IT teams, offering expertise on EHR system use and technology solutions. Work with facility and system leadership to identify needs and recommend technology solutions that support clinical care, operational efficiency, and compliance.
Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project management teams to support the successful delivery of system-wide clinical informatics initiatives. Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of system upgrades, new functionalities, and integrations. Ensure project deliverables are met within timelines and align with clinical and operational requirements.
Workflow Analysis and Process Improvement: Analyze current clinical workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement through the use of informatics tools. Lead or support initiatives to redesign workflows, ensuring that new processes align with clinical needs and improve patient care delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement workflow changes that enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve patient safety.
EHR Implementation, Optimization and Support: Collaborates in the implementation, adoption, and continuous optimization of EHR clinical system functionality to align with CommonSpirit Health’s goals, evidence-based practices, and effective patient care. Provides support to project and design teams, ensuring that region and system user input is integrated into the design and development of the designated EHR system standard.
Metrics Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Provides guidance and support in the collection and reporting of metrics that define benefits realization, operational efficiencies, and return on investment related to EHR systems. Recommends adjustments to the informatics solutions as necessary to enhance performance and outcomes.
Emerging Technologies: Evaluate emerging technologies such as third-party applications, artificial intelligence (AI), and other digital health tools within clinical systems. Collaborating with IT, vendors and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with existing EHR platforms, redesigning workflows to leverage new technologies for improved patient care and operational efficiency, and providing training and support to clinicians.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum four (4) years of experience in a clinical setting
