Overview:
We are seeking an experienced z/OS Systems Programmer to join our team and manage our mainframe environment. You will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing z/OS infrastructure, ensuring system stability, security, and performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, detail-oriented professional to contribute to a high-performing IT team in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and support the z/OS environment, including TSO, ISPF, SMP/E, GDPS, MFA, JES2, and Sysplex.
Ensure system optimization, balancing complexity, security, and performance.
Take ownership of system issues, troubleshoot problems, and minimize downtime.
Implement z/OS security best practices and maintain compliance with SOD (Separation of Duties).
Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
Support and guide team members on best practices for z/OS system configurations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation.
Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience with z/OS, Sysplex, JES2, SMP/E, z/OSMF, TSO, ISPF, GRS, and Catalogs.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues efficiently.
Understanding of high-level security policies and best practices for z/OS.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Self-motivated, proactive, and organized, with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A team player with strong collaboration skills and an open-minded approach.
