One of the leading causes of catastrophic wildfires and power outages? Trees and brush coming into contact with power lines.
That’s where we help. At Overstory, we use AI and advanced satellite imagery to pinpoint and prioritize vegetation risks before they materialize. By giving utilities critical analysis on those risks, we’re helping prevent outages, reduce wildfire risks, and accelerate the transition to a safer, more resilient grid.
Our team spans the Americas and Europe, and we work with utility partners across the Americas and beyond. We’re outdoor enthusiasts, musicians, artists, athletes, parents, and adventurers—15 nationalities strong and growing. The role
As a Senior Business Analyst at Overstory, you'll play a critical role in analyzing data, guiding customers in implementing results, and collaborating with our product teams to scale insights. This role requires a strategic mindset to bridge technical outputs with business needs and ensure our customers maximize the value of our vegetation risk insights. If you thrive on solving complex problems and translating data into action, this is the role for you.
What you'll do:
- Analyze and interpret complex data outputs related to vegetation management for electric utilities.
- Work directly with customers to implement recommendations and drive real-world impact.
- Develop and refine models in Excel to extract insights and forecast trends.
- Manage customer relationships, ensuring long-term success and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with product teams to turn analytical insights into scalable solutions.
- Communicate complex data findings in a clear and actionable way.
About you
- 5-10 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or a related field.
- Strong experience working with large datasets and extracting meaningful business insights.
- Management consulting experience.
- Proficiency in Excel for data modeling and analysis.
- Experience managing customer relationships, ideally in a consultative role.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences.
- Passionate about tackling climate challenges with data-driven solutions.
- Are live in East coast of the US
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Python or SQL.
- Background in utility operations, infrastructure, or vegetation management.
- Prior work in a high-growth startup or mission-driven company.
- Exposure to remote sensing, AI, or geospatial analytics.

About our team
We are a group of 64 people from all over the world. We work remotely from nine different countries and we are looking for people that are also living and working in one of these countries: United States, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Estonia, Portugal, France, Sweden and Canada. We meet up once a year in-person for our unforgettable team gathering event. We also offer the option to occasionally meet up for in-person collaboration.
