Job Summary:

The Logistics Specialist II is responsible for the inbound/outbound movements of tooling. This includes the inventory control of the SAP-ETM tooling system and a direct link to implementation of tooling procedures, analysis, and administration. Responsible for timely and accurate entry of freight cost and dates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Organize international & domestic transportation (air, truck, multimodal), keeping Logistics tracker updated
  • Be primary link between the Tooling Coordinators and the international shipment of tools to ensure on time and smooth deliveries
  • Guide cross-functional teams to support Customs and Logistics topics
  • Deal with any customs issues by working with our logistic provider
  • Support international and domestic delivery process and Customs clearance in a compliant and efficient manner
  • Work with local transport companies to ensure on time deliveries, log performances of the carriers to ensure they meet the required standards and set KPI`s
  • Apply for Special programs: ATA CARNETs, Temporary Export and Import, Outward processing, other duty-savings opportunities. Control of Customs reporting dates, closure & prolongation of open procedures
  • Interact with brokers and freight forwarders and monitor their performance
  • Work continuously with the Tooling Coordinator and Tooling Manager to improve systems and procedures relating to both Tooling and Logistics
  • Handle consulting technical details relating to all international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements, while controlling CARNET distribution and correct usage
  • Oversee control of Purchase Order issuance and work closely with the logistics vendors to ensure timely payments of assigned invoices
  • Manage supplier approval documentation, assist in the vetting process for new suppliers, support obtaining carrier information and documentation necessary for registration in appropriate systems
  • Rate negotiations, Request for Quotes (RFQs), Intent to Order (ITO), contract preparation, amendment processing, analyze project delivery schedule and freight details, impacting tool arrival as well as project delays
  • Contract administration: review and compile carrier contracts; maintain contract files and load rates from contract into rating tool: on-line or excel
  • Manage trainings and seminars about specific sourcing issues
  • Provide expertise on modes, rates, volumes, perform Cost Benefit Analyses (CBA) for internal and external customers to facilitate design and implementation of efficient, safe, and cost-effective logistics execution strategies
  • Audit all Service Provider freight invoices and facilitate payment processing activities
  • Non-conformances on commodity damages and EHS events
  • Enter all data in SAP based system (ETM) including dates, documents, pictures, HS Codes, fees, taxes, and transportation cost for liquidation
  • Create Global Trade Compliance requests and send to designated team as well as review ETM numbers for classification and secure the classification performed for clearance
  • Ensure all CARNETs and temporary imports are closed (if applicable) and dispositioned to avoid global fines, communicating with Finance team as necessary
  • Work with Finance team as necessary for bank guarantee letters for temporary imports and customs bonds
  • Enter CARNET request and demand in an external system - while requesting extensions, multiple country counterfoils, and each countries regulations concerning entry
  • Create all International Documents required manually and ensure they are in good order to be utilized globally - including but not limited to - Commercial Invoice, Bill of Ladings, CARNET, Certificate of Origin, ISF Fillings, ACE Filings, Chamber Permits, Fumigation Inspections, Container Certifications, Dangerous Good Declarations, Safety Data Sheets, and other documents as requested by other government agencies
  • Analyze Finance quarterly documents for missing liquidations and work with 3PL Freight payment Auditor for approvals and 100% invoice review
  • Responsible for the entire life cycle of tooling, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources
  • Maintain Cost-Out month over month
  • Forecast planning with Tooling Team
  • Complete DG forms for air cargo
  • Coordinate special requests with site team (crane, forklift, scheduled loading / offloading)
  • Track BG & customs bond, and temporary expirations
  • Travel may be required
  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments
  • You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Additional Duties:

  • Have control of the ETM system and to Work closely with the tooling coordinators/Supervisors to ensure that Inventory control, Calibrations, Billing, and Closure of work orders are carried out
  • Customs payments calculation and control of available funds on Customs account
  • Perform pre-entry Customs formalities and issue resolution operations and arrange implementation and localization of Global Customs SOP and Enterprise Standard, achieve key targets
  • Tool Center Admin Support (Vacations, supply purchases, timesheets)
  • Maintain and Monitor Free Trade Zone (FTZ) BG, and serve as FTZ Point of Contact
  • Serve as Point of Contact for Chamber of Commerce
  • Hold recurrent conference calls with Tool centers, service managers, outage managers, and ORR

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of experience in logistics related role, OR
  • High School Diploma and 5+ years of import/export logistics planning and execution experience
  • Logistics experience with Hand Carry procedures and policy
  • Understand office formats and procedures, including Microsoft Office Programs and SAP Software
  • Moderate computer skills, including ability to create spreadsheets and reports
  • English proficiency required

Physical Requirements (EU Excluded)

  • Must be able to see and move throughout warehouse to resolve work problems and facilitate processes; repetitive motion activities may be involved
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and squatting
  • Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight up to 40 lbs.
