Job description

 

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per quarter 

 

As the Product APSO lead you will be responsible for the support of close to 100 business applications including the management of the nightly batch cycle, incident resolution, service request completion, problem management, standard operation procedures, and documentation. Additional responsibilities include:
• Support a team of production support personnel representing a variety of areas within the product solution value stream from onshore, nearshore and offshore
• Understand Onsite, Nearshore & Offshore models and lead the teams. Own 24x7 support of product solution value stream.
• Management of timelines and expectations of requests coming into APSO according to urgency and available resources
• Work closely with Business Stakeholders, Business Analyst to review business requirements, understand business processes, and provide them data in a manual or automated fashion to best support their requests.
• Maintain a line of communication with respective Application Development and Quality Assurance support teams.
• Oversee the ideation and automation of data processes within the product solution value stream to avoid manual repeatable tasks.
• Concentrate on focusing the team on process improvement ideas that help reduce run cost and make processes more efficient.

Required Skills:
• Strong knowledge of utilities (FILEAID, SYNCSORT, IDCAMS) , DB2, COBOL, Assembler, VSAM with proven experience in mainframe batch and online processing.
• Hands-on development mentality, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems with understanding of Business terms and Business Acumen.  
• Strong knowledge of debugging, trouble shooting, overnight abend resolution.
• Ability to run effective meetings, knowing when and how to ask the right questions, keep the meetings on track, prioritize the tasks needed, allow others to take leadership roles, follow-up on documentation and have private one-on-one conversations (afterwards) with technical resources to help advance their skills
• Strong experience managing staffing, identifying resource gaps, and contention issues, including internal employees and vendor resources/consultants.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

 

Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management, or a related field.
• Certification in insurance processing a plus, ex ALMI (LOMA)
• Certification in delivery methodologies such as Scaled Agile a plus.
• Financial industry knowledge, including insurance.
• Experience in mainframe utilities a plus.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:  $110,000-$190,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
