What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. As the Executive Director, Product Team Lead, (PTL) you will serve as the single leader for the cross functional Product Team with accountability for product strategy and leadership throughout the product lifecycle.

The PTL is a critical role in the organization that has a significant impact on a product or set of products, at all stages of the product lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing and delivering product strategy and for providing exceptional cross functional team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an integrated product strategy which considers near and long-term broad, cross functional impacts and region and country perspectives, accountability for the product value, profitability / product assumptions

  • Ensure strategy and assumptions are executable

  • Develop and articulate strategic options to make the best trade-off decisions for Amgen, global value and risk profile

  • Manage and set clear communicating goals that align with a vision, and delivering proactive program communications to functions, countries and regions.

  • Communicate decisions to all cross-functional team members and stakeholders

  • Generate focused communication of program needs and recommendations to executive management

  • Responsible for identifying what decisions are at the product, portfolio, functional, or regional levels, by utilizing the Amgen DAI decision making framework for product decisions and to accurately assess risk related to program decisions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree & 6 years of drug commercialization related experience OR

  • Master’s degree & 10 years of drug commercialization related experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of drug commercialization experience AND

  • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to synthesize different points of view to make sound and objective decisions

  • Ability to navigate within a highly matrixed environment

  • Understanding of the business and end-to-end drug commercialization

  • Experience with formulating integrated, cross-functional strategies

  • Communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to lead with courage and can comfortably confront and work through conflict, and is not afraid to make tough decisions and take quick action

  • Deliver results through effective team and peer leadership and effective decision making

  • Ability to synthesize different points of view to make sound and objective decisions

  • Navigate within a highly matrixed environment

  • Understanding of the business and end-to-end drug commercialization

  • Experience with formulating integrated, cross-functional strategies

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $244,976 - $313,093.
