Who You Are

You're a proven leader in software development, balancing technical expertise with strategic vision and a people-first leadership approach. With 8+ years of hands-on software development experience and 4+ years leading teams, you know how to build scalable, cloud-native systems while fostering high-performing engineering teams. You have a deep understanding of modern software development, including cloud architecture, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines, and you're skilled at aligning technology with business goals.

You're not just a technical leader—you’re a collaborator and strategist, ensuring that engineering efforts integrate seamlessly across departments to drive innovation and efficiency. You have a passion for mentoring and empowering teams, and you thrive on optimizing engineering processes, improving team performance, and maintaining system reliability at scale.

You bring:

  • 8+ years of experience as a software developer, with a strong background in scalable, cloud-based systems (AWS, GCP, or similar).
  • 4+ years of experience in engineering leadership, scaling teams, and fostering Agile best practices.
  • Expertise in software engineering best practices, cloud-native development, and DevOps methodologies.
  • A data-driven mindset, using performance metrics to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence.
  • The ability to align engineering initiatives with product strategy, collaborating across departments to drive business impact.
  • A problem-solving approach, ensuring production stability and proactively improving system resilience.

What You'll Do

As the Director of Software Development, you’ll lead, optimize, and scale our software engineering efforts while ensuring strategic alignment across teams. Your role will be a blend of technology leadership, strategic planning, and team development, creating an environment where engineers thrive and deliver top-tier solutions.

  • Shape the software development vision—define strategy, best practices, and roadmaps for long-term success.
  • Lead and mentor Development Team Leads, helping them grow their teams and improve engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate across departments, ensuring seamless alignment between product, engineering, and business initiatives.
  • Partner with DevOps to optimize workflow efficiency and system integration for smooth deployments.
  • Oversee production stability, continuously monitoring performance and implementing proactive improvements to ensure system reliability.
  • Develop performance metrics, tracking team efficiency and driving continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
  • Foster an Agile, high-performance engineering culture, balancing speed, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Champion best practices in software development, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing, forward-thinking engineering team while playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology and products. If you're ready to lead with impact, drive innovation, and empower teams, we’d love to meet you.
