Child Care Aware® of America, the leading voice for child care, works with more than 500 state and local Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) and other partners to ensure that families in every local community have access to quality, affordable child care. Together, with these partners and others doing the work in states and communities, CCAoA helps America become child care strong by providing research that drives effective practice and policy, building strong child care programs and professionals, helping families find and afford quality child care, delivering thought leadership to the military, and direct service to its families and providing a real-world understanding of what works and what doesn’t to spur policymakers into action and help them build solutions.  As we move into a growth and hiring phase, we are seeking a Remote Graphic Designer to join our team.

The Graphic Designer serves as CCAoA’s principal visual storyteller, creating compelling and high-quality designs that amplify the voice of child care across membership, events, research, products, partnerships, and advocacy efforts. This role requires a designer who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, someone who can move quickly from concept to execution while maintaining creativity, consistency, and brand integrity. The Graphic Designer must be flexible, highly responsive to feedback, and able to absorb and apply brand guidelines across all design products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including digital ads, infographics, multimedia, social media assets, print collateral, and branding projects. This role requires the ability to navigate varying levels of direction, sometimes receiving detailed guidance, other times little to none, and translating that into high-quality, brand-aligned designs. The candidate must be comfortable iterating based on feedback, refining their work efficiently until the final product meets both stakeholder expectations and CCAoA’s brand standards.

Job Responsibilities:

·        Conceptualize, design, and produce a variety of visual materials, including research reports, one-pagers, white papers, brochures, digital assets, and presentations.

·        Ensure all designs align with the organization’s brand guidelines, maintaining consistency and visual impact across all platforms.

·        Provide ongoing brand guidance to internal teams and external partners, ensuring adherence to design best practices.

·        Manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and creativity.

·        Quickly iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback, demonstrating adaptability and a solutions-oriented mindset.

·        Work closely with the Senior Manager, Marketing to develop and maintain production schedules.

·        Support other departments by creating templatized, branded collateral for internal and external presentations.

·        Offer creative input and strategic recommendations to enhance visual storytelling across platforms.

·        Design digital assets for social media, web, and email marketing, with a strong understanding of mobile-friendly and responsive design.

·        Plan, shoot, and edit videos and podcasts to support campaigns, projects, and educational initiatives.

·        Stay informed on design trends, new tools, and emerging best practices to continuously elevate the organization’s visual presence.

·        Work with external vendors (printers, production houses) to ensure cost-effective and efficient execution of design projects.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a professional graphic design role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design work across digital and print.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is required.
  • Experience with motion graphics, video editing, and multimedia design is a strong plus.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment without compromising quality.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining brand guidelines across various platforms.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with marketing platforms such as HubSpot is a plus.
  • Comfortable taking feedback and iterating rapidly to meet stakeholder needs.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for design integration.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring polished and professional outputs.
  • Ability to work remotely with little daily oversight.
  • Other duties as assigned.
