Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Communications leads communication initiatives across both internal and external audiences. Reporting to the Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Officer, this position plays a pivotal role in enhancing associate engagement and elevating brand awareness among key stakeholders. The dual-focused role will be split between corporate communications, targeting external audiences such as media, vendors and customers and internal communications , aimed at fostering an informed workforce. The Senior Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies to promote Rite Aid’s brand, services and business objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and execute an internal communications strategy to ensure the delivery of announcements, programs, projects, and events, and drive associate engagement.
  • Lead the development of written and visual content that resonates with audiences, including corporate, field, front-end, pharmacy and distribution center associates. Develop storytelling strategies, leveraging associate-driven content where possible.
  • Lead the planning, production and scripting of internal events, including virtual town halls, conferences, store operations updates and in-person leadership meetings.
  • Manage the development and distribution of crisis and change management communications.
  • Lead and manage content delivered via the corporate intranet (theHUB), including the development and deployment of new features.
  • Oversee the editorial content calendar for internal communications, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Lead the development of corporate communications strategies aimed at positioning Rite Aid as a thought leader in the retail pharmacy sector. Oversee media relations, including crafting press releases, developing key messaging and managing relevant media inquiries.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to the Manager of Internal Communications and the Sr. Manager of Video and Events Production, fostering a culture of collaboration and supporting their professional growth and development.
  • Translate complex company initiatives into concise, digestible content that aligns with business goals and strategy. Establish and nurture relationships with senior leaders, advising on communication strategies and tactics. Support the Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Officer in executive thought leadership to amplify leadership visibility.
