Job Summary 

The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we’d love for you to be a part of it as our QA Engineer.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled QA Engineer to join our team. The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and exceed industry standards.

What You’ll Do As A QA Engineer 

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for new and existing features.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies.
  • Conduct functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, or similar.
  • Work with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving testing practices.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, processes, and guidelines.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive test reports and documentation.

What You Will Bring As A QA Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven 3 to 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Javascript, PHP).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
  • Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage.
  • Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
  • Proven experience working with US based business teams.   
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English language.
  • Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap
  • Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
