Job description

Main Accountabilities:

  • Responsibility for volume and margins (Budget & FCST) within the set targets.
  • Responsibility for negotiating prices and rebates and setting price quotations within corporate guidelines.
  • Independent analysis of the customer & demand structure in the segment served. Identification of sales & margin potentials & risks.
  • Acquisition and development of new customers as well as expansion of existing business through implementation of sales strategies.
  • Self-responsible initiation & follow-up of Opps Pipeline in line (focus on “new” business) with the margin & product strategy also involving Tech Service and Marketing resources.
  • Independent planning and implementation of customer visits within the framework of the agreed targets, taking into account the value of the customer relationship.
  • Continuous development of commercial excellence and usage of provided sales support tools (e.g. C4C for reports and Opps Pipeline).
  • Support the Regional Manager in Territory -, Budget - & Forecast Planning.
  • Preparation of visit reports for sustainable information & communication within the organisation.
  • Independent integration of interdepartmental resources (Tech. Service, Product Management, Marketing, Distribution Management, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Regulatory Affairs) to ensure sustainable customer loyalty.
  • Informing the organisation about competitive behaviour & market trends. Contribute to the conception of countermeasures.
  • Implementation of agreed conditions in line with the corporate strategy.
  • Responsibility for setting payment terms and conditions in line with credit management targets.
  • Active credit management in cooperation with GroupFinance. Monitor accounts receivables and ensure cash flow target deliverables/on time payments.
  • Active claim management in cooperation with Tech. Service.
  • Ensure compliance with SHE requirements in the area of responsibility to ensure SHE compliance in line with internal, contractual and legal requirements.
  • Public representation of the company at trade fairs, events & congresses.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Education: Graduate in business management or long standing equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years commercial experience in speciality chemicals (Coatings Architectural & Industrial would be considered as a plus).
  • Fluent in German and English languages (preferable German native speaker).
  • Experience in working in remote international sales teams.
  • Outstanding Business integrity.
  • Strong track record in Sales within speciality chemicals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and manage at both, strategic and operational levels.
  • A mission-driven team player with the desire to make an impact and difference.
  • Must be able to demonstrable drive, determination, self-motivation.
  • Ambitious – Potential Key Account and/or Regional management in 3-4 years.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues globally.
  • Experience working across cultures in a global organization.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills across cultures.
  • Willing to travel min. 50%.
