As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Incident Response Security Engineer to join our team and help strengthen our security posture.

About the Role

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be responsible for safeguarding AmeriVet’s infrastructure, ensuring the security of our clinics and corporate systems, including responding to security incidents with efficiency and precision. This role requires a highly skilled security professional with deep expertise in CrowdStrike Falcon, endpoint security, SIEM and SOAR solutions, forensics, and incident response methodologies. You will play a critical role in managing the security standards and investigating security incidents, integrating log sources with CrowdStrike, and automating security processes using PowerShell and Python.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize CrowdStrike Falcon to monitor, analyze, and respond to security threats targeting AmeriVet’s clinics and corporate infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement SIEM and SOAR integrations to enhance security event detection and response automation.
  • Perform forensic analysis of compromised endpoints and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Engineer and implement security automation solutions using PowerShell and Python to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Identify and integrate new log sources into existing security monitoring tools to improve visibility across the environment.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to internal teams on security best practices, incident handling, and threat mitigation.
  • Continuously analyze threat intelligence, identify trends, and develop proactive security measures.
  • Work independently and take initiative in security investigations, collaborating with stakeholders across IT and leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, focusing on incident response, threat detection, and forensics.
  • Expertise with CrowdStrike Falcon and its capabilities in endpoint detection and response (EDR).
  • Strong knowledge of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with log source integration and log analysis for detecting and responding to security threats.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Python for automation and scripting.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a remote-first environment with distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, or CEH.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with PCI requirements
