Join our Procurement Team at Lek | Sandoz to be part of a multicultural, collaborative group shaping the future of Sandoz, in a dynamic, fast-paced environment offering flexible-hybrid career opportunities.
As Procurement Category Manager Transportation, you will focus on international supply chain activities and ensure the transportation capacity is secured competitively and aligned with internal stakeholders by overseeing vendor sourcing and management responsibilities.
A successful candidate will be able to deliver improved financial results along with vendor performance, and capacity efforts and assuring achieving the targets with the policies, strategies and processes.
This individual will be expected to manage multiple internal and vendor relationships, working with a team that contributes significantly to the overall transportation and supply chain strategy. Internal and external relationship management is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Procurement Strategies:
- Analyze category spending, requirements, risk assessment, supplier base assessment, and SRM strategy.
- Design and implement logistic procurement plans based on business demands
- Create project plans and coordinate them internally and externally
Sourcing:
- Identify business needs and specifications
- Align sourcing plan to financial budget and global business strategy
- Optimize the supply pool by regularly assessing suppliers, negotiating contracts and monitoring and managing supplier performance
Supplier management:
- Negotiate competitive rates and favorable contract terms
- Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses and maintain the reliable supplier pool
Processes and tools:
- Develop procurement management systems, workflows, and assessment standards as per company guidelines
- Monitor productivity vs target
- Ensure compliance and operational efficiency
- Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process and deliver as per the timetable
- Rate card maintenance
Market analysis:
- Stay updated on market trends in logistics capacity and pricing
- Share insights and adjust strategy to maintain competitiveness, reduce costs and explore alternatives
X-functional collaboration:
- Partner with internal teams to align logistic capacity with operational goals and optimize based on the requirements
- Consolidate the requirements and act as the business partner for other functions, supporting the alignment and optimization of specifications
- Deliver end-to-end contract projects, working through obstacles along the way and planning for unexpected challenges to maintain the minimum
Communications:
- Working through difficult challenges, including source-to-contract, negotiations, legal requirements and internal system updates
What you will bring to the role:
- University/Advanced degree is required. Master’s Degree/other advanced degree is preferred.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Minimum 5 years of tactical procurement, transportation or supply chain experience.
