Claims Manager- Constructions Defect
About the role:
DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a Claims Manager to join its subsidiary Align Claims. This position requires a minimum of 15 years of claims experience with at least 5 years handling high exposure construction defect cases that involve complex coverage and risk transfer issues. At least 5 years prior management experience is also required. This is a remote role.
Location: Remote, U.S.
Salary Range: $150,000.00-$175,000.00
Essential Functions:
• Maintain a diary on all open claims files assigned to the claims team to ensure all best practices are being followed
• Review and approve all coverage letters, including reservation of rights and coverage disclaimers.
• Assign new losses
• Mentor and training
• Facilitate a team building culture through regular meetings with staff at the team and individual level
• Ensure compliance with DOI regulations
• Retain talent. Acquire talented team members when vacancies arise
• Ensure timely reserves are posted
• Perform monthly file audits to ensure best practices are being followed and provide feedback to the front-line examiners with audit results
• Review large loss reports that will typically involve a comprehensive case analysis outlining all critical issues that formulate the basis for an authority request, as well as a verbal roundtable presentation/conference call
• Keep current on key changes in case law and industry trends
• Assist underwriting and other business partners
Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Professional designations (CPCU, AIC, SCLA) are a plus
• 15 + years of overall claims experience required, with at least 5 years of prior management experience
• Must be licensed or have the ability to become licensed in all required states
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
