Job description

Our healthcare system is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. Every year, over 50 million Americans suffer adverse financial consequences as a result of seeking care, from lower credit scores to garnished wages. The challenge is only getting worse, as high deductible health plans are the fastest growing plan design in the U.S.

Cedar’s mission is to leverage data science, smart product design and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Today, healthcare providers still engage with its consumers in a “one-size-fits-all” approach; and Cedar is excited to leverage consumer best practices to deliver a superior experience.

The Role

Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience. Our technology improves the overall experience of patient billing and engagement, enabling providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.

We are looking for a Product Manager for Cedar Pay, the company’s foundational product. This person will sit on our Patients Pillar, helping to drive cost savings for our end customers (health systems/hospitals), improve the patient journey through funnel optimization, and help scale the product. The ideal candidate has experience with A/B testing, optimizing funnel experiences, and working directly with large B2B enterprise customers to scale solutions.

At a high-level, the role will involve:

  • Product Discovery: driving product discovery with providers, patients, and our internal teams to identify problems worth solving and validating solutions.
  • Product development: working with your squad (design, engineering, and data science) to execute on the roadmap to drive key outcomes for customers
  • Launch + GTM scaling: Design a feature roll out process and collaborate cross functionally with Product Success, Product Operations, and Commercial for a successful release
  • Collaborating with commercial teams, clients and partners: manage relations with commercial + client teams to gain an understanding of the key problems to focus on and how we plan to solve them.

Responsibilities

  • Support scoping of features on the roadmap by assisting with discovery and desk research
  • Write product specs that outline functional requirements, design and technical considerations, and measurement strategies for the MVP of a feature on the product roadmap
  • Create tickets with clear user stories and acceptance criteria for your squad’s Design, Data Science, and Engineering counterparts to execute on
  • Define and execute rollout strategies that successfully launch new features to our users
  • Define and own testing and QA strategies to increase confidence in a feature’s success
  • Monitor feature performance and identify potential enhancements for future iterations based on quantitative analysis and qualitative feedback from our users
  • Cross functionally collaborate with Cedar’s Commercial team to socialize feature benefits and provide guidance on the adoption process

 Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of Product Management work experience
  • Experience working with enterprise customers to ship and scale products
  • Experience with A/B testing, optimization, and agile development
  • Strong interpersonal, project management, and organizational skills
  • Effective communicator with cross functional teams and external customers
  • Thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments
  • Curious about user problems and proactively willing to investigate on issues
  • Ability to use data and structured thinking to identify opportunities
  • Embodies a can-do attitude and passionate about serving patients

Bonus Qualifications

  • Technical background, experience with SQL and excel
  • Prior knowledge of the healthcare space (healthcare providers, insurance companies, tech companies…)
