Job Overview

The PMO Generalist is responsible for providing technical, analytical, administrative and operational support. This includes maintaining project management tools, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing project management processes, governance, documentation and reporting.  This person will track project performance and facilitate communications and training between the PMO and other departments on specific areas like portfolio management, budgeting, and reporting.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies, IT systems, and technical support as well as strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience supporting project management organizations.

Responsibilities

PMO Processes & Tools Management:

  • Implement, maintain and update project management tools, portal and systems (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Planisware, SharePoint, MS Teams, or similar platforms).
  • Develop, document, and maintain standardized project management processes to ensure consistency in PMO processes, methodologies, and templates across AD&M.
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, company policies, regulatory requirements, risk management, and quality assurance policies.
  • Lead training and continuous improvement of PMO through identification of opportunities to enhance project management processes based on data analysis and best practices.

 

Portfolio Management & Technical Project Support:

  • Support the PMO in portfolio and pipeline management, including project prioritization, resource allocation, capacity planning and forecasting aligned with strategic goals.
  • Utilize project management software and tools to manage project data, reports and dashboards to communicate project status and insights to stakeholders and management.
  • Assist project managers and teams with technical support related to PMO tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Planisware, SharePoint, MS Teams, or similar platforms).
  • Manage access and permissions for project management tools and troubleshoot software and system issues within the PMO.

 

PMO Project Coordination & Performance Monitoring:

  • Coordinate communications across project teams, facilitate project review meetings, and assist in onboarding project teams and stakeholders to PMO processes and tools.
  • Ensure all project-related documents remain properly stored, accessible, accurate and up-to-date to ensure quality standards are met and templates are controlled and current.
  • Monitor project data and key performance indicators (schedule, budget, deliverables) to support decision-making and assess risks, escalations and dependencies across projects.

Essential Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, IT, Business or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in PMO administration, project coordination and technical support in a PMO environment.
  • Project Management Knowledge/Certifications: project management methodologies such as CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL, Agile, Waterfall and critical path analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software like MS Project, Smartsheet, Planisware or similar platforms, document management / collaboration tools like MS Teams, Sharepoint), and reporting tools like Tableau / Power BI.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret and visualize data, trends, and actionable insights. 
  • Critical Reasoning & Communications: Strong problem-solving and excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to diverse stakeholders. 
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain detailed records. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Capability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across different levels of the organization.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $119,700 - 179,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
