Location: Longueuil, QC—Possibility to work from home #LI-Remote

mdf commerce Inc. is an international team of approximately 650 experts who develop a broad set of SaaS solutions to optimize and accelerate commercial interactions of its B2B and B2G customers.

Reporting to the Vice President Finance, we are currently looking for a Manager, Finance who will be specifically in charge of our GovTech division.

What will your main responsibilities look like?

In this role, you will be led to:

  • Work closely, as a business partner, with GovTech division managers, supporting and advising them on the finance and accounting side of operations.
  • Develop relationships of trust and strategic partnership with division managers and executives.
  • Organize, manage and supervise revenue recognition and allocation of associated expenses for the division.
  • Examine the content and particulars of each client contract, and make accounting recommendations, to ensure a balance between sales growth and profitability.
  • Prepare and analyze key information for FP&A, sales and management teams.
  • Build reports and carry out monthly and quarterly analyses for internal purposes, in support of decision-making.
  • Carry out business analyses, including return on investment for current and future projects and clients.
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of strategic finance initiatives, including M&A and integration of acquired companies.

What elements of your professional background will be necessary and useful in this role?

  • Experience in revenue recognition and accounting operations.
  • CPA designation, with ten years’ experience in finance in progressive roles.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret and synthesize complex information and make decisions based on experience and judgment.
  • Autonomy, sense of priorities and ability to work under pressure and effectively multi-task.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards and their application.
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, changing and growing environment.
  • High energy level, results-oriented.
  • Motivation, initiative, team spirit and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence decisions, encourage inter-team collaboration and challenge teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with English and French-speaking internal and external colleagues and partners in Canada and the United States.
  • Excellent Excel skills, adaptability with accounting systems.
  • Experience in implementing financial systems or transformation projects.
