ASI serves as a trusted adviser to government leaders seeking improved performance, enhanced organization effectiveness, and strategic change and we are actively recruiting a Senior IT Procurement & Contract Specialist to support our state client’s IT Acquisition department.
Our client seeks a Senior IT Procurement & Contract Specialist with extensive experience managing IT contracts, procurement, and vendor negotiations within state government. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional to drive an IT contract strategy, optimize vendor relationships, and ensure operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, manage, and administer IT contracts, RFPs, amendments, renewals, and change orders
- Negotiate end-user license agreements, terms, and conditions to align with state policies
- Provide contract oversight, monitoring, and vendor management to ensure cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with state business leads, project managers, and legal teams on contract decisions
- Maintain a centralized contract repository and analyze IT contract data
- Ensure compliance with state and federal procurement laws and IT security standards
- Act as the primary liaison for IT procurement, bids, and agreements
- Drive critical project actions forward on behalf of the client
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 10-20 years of state IT procurement experience; federal experience a plus
- Strong background in IT contract negotiation and vendor management
- Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, or a related field
- High-level communication and negotiation skills in complex, cross-functional environments
- Ability to develop and modify IFBs, RFQs, and RFPs
- Experience managing contracts through database systems
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience in creating and managing end-user license agreements
- Prior experience writing an IT RFP
