Job description

This is a remote position.


Scope:

  • Monday to Friday; Flexible schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM Richmond, VA Time (20 hours per week)

  • Manage and create content for all social media accounts

  • Design promotional materials for events and programs

  • Update website content on a regular basis

  • Assist with email communications and newsletter creation

  • Contribute to the overall marketing and communication strategy

  • Collaborate with team members on various projects as needed

  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage engaging content for various social media platforms

  • Design visually appealing graphics and flyers using Canva

  • Update and maintain the organization’s WordPress website

  • Write marketing copy for upcoming events and programs

  • Manage community engagement through social media comments and messages

  • Assist with administrative tasks such as email management and scheduling

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase audience engagement

  • Track and report on social media metrics and performance

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in American English (written and spoken)

  • Strong understanding of various social media platforms and best practices

  • Experience with graphic design tools, particularly Canva

  • Familiarity with WordPress or similar content management systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Cultural sensitivity and awareness

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
