Job description

Workiva is looking for an experienced GHG inventory practitioner to join our sales enablement team. In this role, you will leverage applied industry experience compiling Greenhouse Gas Protocol-aligned  corporate GHG inventories across a diverse range of sectors to enable Workiva’s commercial sales team on the fundamentals of carbon accounting and associated sustainability reporting. This role requires both applied experience as a GHG inventory and decarbonization practitioner, as well as a passion and aptitude for teaching and enabling non-experts through a commercial lens.

The  Carbon Enablement Lead will work in partnership with Sales Leadership to drive seller productivity through onboarding, instructor-led training and just-in-time learning that equips sellers, ensures comprehension, and demonstrates field readiness before they engage with customers.  The Carbon Enablement Lead will influence the GTM motions, messaging and assets that support the Sustainability commercial team by enforcing sales consumability and usability as they work in partnership with the Sustainability Product Management and Product Marketing leads.

As part of the Workiva Sales Enablement organization, you will collaborate with Enablement Leadership to create and deliver programs that reduce time-to-productivity and increase ARR in the Sustainability  Solution by working proactively to prepare Sales Leadership to coach and drive best-practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with go-to-market stakeholders to create and lead sales-consumable programs focused on GHG accounting and decarbonization content (e.g., Greenhouse Gas Protocol, SBTi)  voluntary ESG standards and ratings (e.g., CDP, S&P CSA), and jurisdictional sustainability disclosure mandates (e.g., CSRD, California Climate package, ISSB adoptions).

  • Create and lead one-to-many and one-to-one learning experiences that drive productivity during onboarding and everboarding experiences

  • Support the planning, coordination, prioritization, and execution of training activities such as webinars, product onboarding, product certifications and ongoing readiness on key releases from Workiva sustainability

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align strategies and drive informed decision-making

  • Create certifications and practicums that ensure our sellers are prepared for customer interactions on niche carbon accounting and sustainability reporting topics

  • Work in collaboration with the Creative Operations team to develop, deploy, and maintain learning assets through internal and partner facing platforms

  • Partner on a daily basis with the the Global Field Coaching team to ensure alignment with the needs of the front-line management team

  • Participate actively in global sales calls, regional meetings and forecasts in order to stay connected with the business, identify market needs and provide updates on internal programs

  • Develop, maintain, and report on key KPIs for enablement programs that align to leading indicators of revenue

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 4 years of experience

  • Expert familiarity with carbon accounting standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Standard, Scope 2 Standard, and Scope 3 Value Chain Standards required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with adjacent decarbonization standards such as SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard, ISO 14064, sector-specific guidance (e.g., PCAF, FLAG, and hard-to abate sectors), and product carbon footprint standards preferred

  • Applied experience with corporate sustainability reporting standards (e.g., TCFD, SASB,  ISSB S1 & S2, GRI), and knowledge of jurisdictional mandates (e.g. CSRD, California Climate package, and local ISSB adoptions) preferred

  • Previous commercial enablement  experience through virtual and classroom training tools preferred

  • Experience enabling multiple sales audiences on a platform sale with multiple C-Level economic buying audiences preferred

  • Ability to interpret and transform complex and technical standards and rules to a non-expert audience of commercial sellers

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining scalable programs

  • Understanding of strategic alliance and channel organizations in Saas software

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries
