We are looking for an Assistant Manager, eCommerce Category Development who will join our Digital Commerce team.This position will be based at The Scotts Miracle-Gro world headquarters in Marysville (a suburb of Columbus, OH), or remotely.


The Assistant Manager, eCommerce Category Development will develop and support execution on digital go-to-market strategies for our key retailers to help grow our eCommerce presence. They will track, analyze, and report on retailer.com KPIs for the enterprise. This Assistant Manager-level position engages with our sales & digital commerce managers as well as other cross functional teams to support and execute on strategic initiatives set by executive leadership. The position has a wide range of responsibilities from analyzing and reporting data, to internal business development, to developing long-term ecommerce & digital strategies with cross functional teams.

In this role you will:
-Become a trusted liaison between marketing and sales, and provide strategic direction for the integration and execution of eCommerce/digital plans based on analytics & insights.
-Utilize data analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.  Work with 3rd parties (i.e. Profitero), key retailers, and cross-functional partners (i.e. Sales Ops, Analytics) to procure data and ensure data accuracy. 
-Leverage brand strategy and retailer strategy to create insights-driven selling stories to drive eCommerce growth. Attend retailer meetings to present stories alongside BDT counterparts.
-Support the e-commerce growth strategy by identifying gaps in our portfolio based on market share opportunities, complementary products and general new product opportunities to support our ecommerce business.
-Collaborate with sales partners to ensure we have the right eCommerce assortment and fulfillment channel enabled for each retailer.
-Partner with internal UX team and retailer eComm teams to identify retailer specific website opportunities to enhance category visibility and shopper experience to drive conversion.
-Lead strategic eCommerce pricing and promotion initiatives including exclusive and deconflict process.
-Support management of digital coupon strategy in collaboration with third party partners (i.e. Ibotta, Fetch).
-Develop and execute enterprise eCommerce learning plan in an effort to better educate the org on eCommerce/Digital.


Ideal Candidates will have:
-2-3 years experience in business development, strategy/category management, eCommerce or analytics. 
-Flexible, powerful intellect.
-Strong analytical skills.
-A self starter with a bias for action.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively - including ability to build presentations to communicate complex topics in straight forward ways.
-Solid experience organizing, planning, and managing high-priority projects from concept through implementation.
-Ability to analyze data and pull that into insights and opportunities.
-A desire and comfort in working in a changing, fluid, ambiguous environment.
IQ/EQ balance that will enable growth into senior roles.
-Track record of successfully dealing with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
-Strong presence, poise, and persuasiveness to quickly establish a high level of credibility.
-Ability to work in a collaborative, open work environment.

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $85,100.00 - $100,100.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
