The Inside Sales Representative, Target Accounts plays a critical part in expanding our customer base, supporting research initiatives, and achieving revenue targets. The Inside Sales Representative, Target Accounts will report to the Senior Manager, Inside Sales, and work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to drive pipeline creation and banked/inventory revenue.

Responsibilities:

Pipeline Development & Lead Qualification:

  • Proactively identify and engage net new accounts through targeted prospecting efforts, ensuring continuous expansion of our customer base.
  • Conduct targeted outreach (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn) to potential pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic customers.
  • Research target accounts to understand their pipeline, funding status, and potential biospecimen needs.
  • Engage inbound leads from Marketing efforts and requests from Third-Party platforms, qualify them based on scientific and business criteria, and schedule discovery calls or generate banked/inventory opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a steady pipeline of qualified leads, ensuring a balance between immediate pipeline and long-term growth.
  • Maintain accurate records to track opportunity stages, contact details, and next steps for our client interactions, ensuring CRM is consistently up-to-date.
  • Participate in account research projects, help gather relevant account information needed to develop or adjust account strategy, and disseminate information to the entire commercial team.

Banked/Inventory Biospecimen Sales

  • Actively promote and sell the company's existing biospecimen inventory, meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Educate clients on available biospecimen solutions, including quality metrics, availability, and turnaround times.
  • Partner with Sales Management and Operations teams to ensure accurate product information and timely fulfillment.
  • Guide customers from initial inquiry through purchase order completion, driving seamless transactions.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build strong rapport with prospects and clients by understanding their research needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Serve as a key liaison between demand generation and account executives to ensure alignment with sales strategy.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to transition qualified leads into long-term partnerships.
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly and maintain consistent follow-up to move leads through the sales funnel.

Sales Strategy & Process Optimization

  • Leverage sales engagement platforms (Salesforce, Gong Engage, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Website Chat) to enhance prospecting efforts.
  • Optimize outreach strategies through A/B testing of messaging and engagement techniques.
  • Identify roadblocks in the sales process and collaborate with leadership to remove barriers and improve conversion rates.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Inside Sales Manager to refine messaging, execute targeted campaigns, and analyze lead conversion data.
  • Utilize analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as response rates, meeting-to-opportunity conversion ratios, prospect meetings scheduled, and pipeline progression.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, sales development, or a related role, ideally in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, lead qualification, and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales engagement tools (e.g., Gong Engage,, Salesloft).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with a competitive drive to achieve sales goals.
