Summary of Job Duties:
The Neurosurgery Physician RN will promote wellness; improve outcomes, and self-care within a defined population of patients. The RN will provide patients who have chronic conditions the support, education, and assistance in the prevention and/or maintenance of their disease and/or health and wellness state. Will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans and provide support to the patient in self-management. Coordinate care and/or follow-up for patients who receive care in outpatient facilities. Coordination of prescription refill requests and patient education coordination in collaboration with physician staff.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 year RN experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid Arkansas Registered Nursing License
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing 


Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in neurosurgery consultations and follow-up appointments.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education.
  • Administer medications and assist with treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Address patient concerns and provide emotional support to families.
  • Ensure proper sterilization and care of neurosurgical equipment.
