Job description

About One

One’s mission is simple - to help customers achieve financial progress. We’re doing this by creating simple solutions to help our customers save, spend, borrow, and grow their money – all in one place.

The U.S. consumer today deserves better. Millions of Americans today can’t access credit, build savings or wealth, and are left to manage their financial lives through multiple disconnected apps. Almost a quarter of U.S. adults are unbanked or underbanked and roughly 80% of fintech users rely on multiple accounts to manage their finances.

What makes us unique? We are backed by a preeminent fintech investor (Ribbit) and the world’s largest retailer (Walmart), maintain the speed and independence of a startup, and employ a strong (and growing) collection of world-class talent.

There’s never been a better moment to build a business that helps people achieve financial progress. Come build with us!

The role

As Contracts Administrator, you'll work closely with a variety of cross functional partners and ONE’s Contracts Manager to execute our overall contract management process. Additionally, this role will help maintain software solutions and diligent oversight of various contracts.

This role is responsible for:

  • Providing essential support to Legal and Procurement colleagues, including assisting with the coordination of internal approvals, facilitating signature processes, and ensuring a seamless contract workflow.

  • Becoming an expert in our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tool, developing and maintaining proficiency in its features and functionality.

  • Assisting with the ongoing use of the CLM tool, including helping to train new users, supporting existing users, and performing basic system administration tasks to ensure seamless integration with key business systems.

  • Helping with drafting, redlining, and maintaining version control of contracts, including administrative updates and initial contract reviews.

  • Supporting the coordination of the contract review and approval process from intake through execution, ensuring alignment with internal stakeholders.

  • Interpreting basic contractual language to maintain an accurate contracts repository and ensure clean master data.

  • Maintaining and organizing contract records and repositories, ensuring easy access to critical documents.

  • Serving as a point of contact for standard contract templates and various agreements, escalating complex requests to Legal, as needed.

  • Enhancing efficiency in contract processes, helping streamline workflows and improve turnaround times to support business needs.

  • Reviewing and processing non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) under guidance from the Legal team, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Supporting contract audits, template updates, and process improvements to enhance efficiency in procurement and supplier agreements.

  • Using contract management tools to track key terms, dates, and compliance requirements.

  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day contract operations by collaborating with cross-functional teams across the business, including Procurement, Finance, and Accounting, to support contract-related needs.

This description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this position. The actual duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may vary based on assignment or group.

You bring
  • 4+ years of experience in contracts management or experience in a related role, such as a Contracts Analyst, Procurement Specialist, Corporate/Transactional Paralegal, etc.

  • Demonstrable experience supporting processes that create efficiency within a legal operations team in a fast-scaling business.

  • The Triple H Factor: Hungry, Humble, and Honest

  • An act-like-an-owner mentality: decisive, collaborative, and ruthlessly prioritize

  • A successful track record of negotiating NDAs and managing large contract portfolios

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure in the face of competing deadlines and with a large number of stakeholders

  • Willingness to contribute to improvement efforts and best practices

  • Proficiency in the use and implementation of vendor contract management software, knowledge management, and electronic signature tools; experience with Ironclad and Zip is a plus

  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to solving problems and developing creative processes

  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with members at all levels of the organization, including executives

Pay Transparency

The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from  $100,000 to $130,000. Pay is generally based upon the level, complexity, responsibility, location and job duties/requirements of the specific position. We then source candidates with the requisite skills, expertise, education, training, and experience.  If you are selected for an interview, please feel welcome to speak to a Talent Partner about our compensation philosophy and other available benefits.

We use Covey as part of our hiring process for jobs in NYC and certain features may qualify it as an AEDT. As part of the evaluation process we provide Covey with job requirements and candidate submitted applications. We began using Covey Scout for Inbound on May 31, 2024.

Please see the independent bias audit report covering our use of Covey here.

Leveling Philosophy

In order to thoughtfully scale the company and avoid downstream inequities, we’ve adopted a flat titling structure at One. Though we may occasionally post a role externally with a prefix such as “Senior” to reflect the external level of the position, we do not use prefixes in titles like that internally unless in a position which manages a team. Internal titles typically include your specific functional responsibility, such as engineering, product management or sales, and often include additional descriptors to ensure clarity of role and placement within our organization (i.e. “Engineer, Platform”, “Sales, Business Development” or “Manager, Talent”). Employees are paid commensurate with their experience and the internal level within One.

Inclusion & Belonging

To build technology and products that are used and loved by people and solve real-world problems, we need to build a team with many different perspectives and experiences. We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Applicants in need of special assistance or accommodation during the interview process or in accessing our website may contact us at talent@one.app.
