Job description

At Magic Eden, we’re breaking down barriers to make Web3 what it should be — intuitive, accessible and of course, magical. As the #1 Bitcoin dApp and the #1 NFT marketplace, we’re leading the charge to redefine the onchain experience. Backed by top-tier investors like Sequoia, Paradigm, Electric Capital and Lightspeed Ventures, we’re building a future where trading is seamless, tokenomics are meaningful and Magic Eden becomes the best and biggest DEX in Web3. Join our global team of passionate, scrappy and wildly talented people to help shape the next era of Web3 with us.

As the Head of Data & Analytics at Magic Eden, you will lead the strategy and execution of our data initiatives, ensuring data-driven insights shape our product roadmap, user growth, and user engagement. You will work cross-functionally to embed data into decision-making, optimize marketplace dynamics, and drive meaningful business outcomes. This is a high-impact role for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, web3-native environment and understands how to scale data functions (data science and analytics) in a rapidly evolving market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Strategic Impact: Identify high-value opportunities where data can drive growth, revenue, and retention. Ensure insights shape company and product strategy, leading to measurable improvements in key metrics.

  • Develop Operational Excellence: Build scalable systems and processes for data workflows, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of insights. Establish best practices that improve efficiency and execution.

  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and marketing teams to embed data into decision-making and align initiatives with business priorities. Foster a culture where data is a core part of strategic discussions.

  • Build and Grow a High-Performing Team: Recruit, mentor, and retain top data talent. Establish a strong team culture focused on learning, feedback, and continuous improvement. Ensure the team is engaged, effective, and seen as a key driver of business success.

  • Establish a Scalable Data Culture: Ensure data is deeply integrated into company operations. Create processes that enable teams across the organization to leverage insights effectively and make data-driven decisions at every level.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with at least 3+ years leading high-performing data teams.

  • Proven ability to connect data insights to business strategy, driving measurable impact on growth, retention, and revenue.

  • Deep understanding of data science methodologies, analytics frameworks, and modern data infrastructure. Familiarity with SQL, Python, and data visualization tools is a plus.

  • Experience working closely with product, engineering, marketing, and leadership teams to align data initiatives with company goals.

  • Ability to build scalable data processes, improve execution, and ensure high-quality insights are delivered efficiently.

  • Experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing data teams. Track record of fostering a culture of learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, synthesize complex data, and create clear, actionable strategies that drive business results.

What you get:

  • A fast-paced and collaborative environment

  • Competitive compensation and equity options

  • Flexible PTO

  • Comprehensive health, dental and vision plans

  • Wellness and work from home allowance

  • Remote-first company

  • 401k plan (in the US)

The compensation for this position will vary based on geography and other factors (including years and depth of experience and expertise, and other business considerations). The base salary range for this role for the United States is $250,000 - $275,000. Additionally, this full-time role is eligible to receive benefits, as well as participate in Magic Eden’s equity plan. Final offer package will be at the company’s sole discretion
