Job description

Account Executive – France West

About the Role:

As the Account Executive, you will be responsible for achieving sales quotas in the region and building long-term strategic partnerships with all levels of your customer’s organisation. You will lead a subset of strategically important large accounts. Reporting to the District Sales Manager, you will develop and maintain a seamless partnership to maximize all aspects of the relationship, including the adoption and use of 10x products, financial performance and business growth, customer satisfaction, and product/technology development and optimization.

What you will be doing:

  • Achieve sales growth and objectives within assigned accounts across the 10x portfolio in the region
  • Commit to rigorous territory planning, applying market knowledge to ensure accurate and timely forecasting
  • Maximize the strategic business relationship and understand the competitive dynamics within the accounts to help lead development and implementation of strategies that best position 10x Genomics technology and products
  • Negotiate sales opportunities within company-established parameters for the assigned key accounts and generate associated sales contracts and quotations
  • Manage the sales process including pricing management, project pipeline visibility, product and revenue forecasting, order transactions, and ship schedules
  • Partner collaboratively and establish productive, professional relationships with cross functional teams including Business Development, Product Marketing, Field Sales to drive opportunities and awareness in assigned accounts
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction as well as up-sell and cross-sell potential within assigned accounts and coordinate any pre and post-sales follow-up
  • Provide business insight and value to retain customer relationships and give regular feedback on account status and key initiatives to the leadership team when required
  • Maintain current knowledge of genetic analysis markets, products, and buying practices required to effectively compete in the assigned territory
  • Ensure the CRM system is consistently updated with accurate customer and sales information

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field; or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Multi-year Life Science sales experience (e.g., NGS, Diagnostics, Spatial, pharma environment)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and master highly technical concepts and articulate them well to others
  • Ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding relationship-building and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships
  • Results-oriented, entrepreneurial, and self-motivating with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel as required to be successful in this field-based role
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM database
  • Fluent French and English language skills

Preferred Qualifications and/or Experience:

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in using a CRM system (preferably Salesforce)
