This is a remote position.

Full-time (40 hours a week)
Mon - Fri 8 AM- 5 PM (EST) includes 1h unpaid break



Job Description Accounting Coordinator / Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Administer full cycle accounts receivable and payable
  • Process customer payments (cheque/credit cards/eft/ach/wire transfers)
  • Enter vendor bills for multiple companies
  • Process vendor bill payments (cheque/credit cards/eft/ach/wire transfers)
  • Perform foreign currency and related company transactions
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Review and complete employee expense reports monthly and update expense budget
  • Process customer credit requests
  • Proactively spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency
  • Assist with preparations for year-end financial statements
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Assist other staff members as required
  • Oversee and coordinate special financial projects

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business/accounting/finance or related subject
  • 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting
  • Strong technical experience with NetSuite ERP system is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Microsoft 365
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Efficient/effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
  • Enhanced attention to detail to produce error-free work
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with applying initiative to improve departmental processes
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Reconcile accounts and record financial transactions accurately
  • Assist with invoicing and payroll-related tasks
  • Prepare financial reports for review by the company’s accountant
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Collaborate with company leadership to provide financial insights
