Manager, Program Management Office (PMO)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Manager of the Program Management Office (PMO) to lead and oversee the successful execution of digital transformation initiatives across the organization. As the PMO Manager, you will be responsible for managing and guiding the project management function, ensuring that all projects are aligned with business goals and delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. You will drive the strategic direction of digital transformation programs, provide leadership to program managers, and collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize program delivery across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • PMO Leadership: Manage and oversee the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure the effective execution of all digital transformation projects. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of program managers and project managers.
  • Project Scope & Progress Management: Define and manage overall project scope, progress, and delivery. Ensure the alignment of programs with strategic business goals and provide ongoing monitoring of project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify and manage risks, issues, blockers, and dependencies at the program level. Develop mitigation strategies and proactively address challenges to keep projects on track.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand requirements, drive alignment on project objectives, and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Business Process Re-engineering (BPR): Lead research and analysis of operational practices and inefficiencies as part of business process re-engineering (BPR) initiatives. Drive the development, consolidation, or training solutions that support digital transformation goals.
  • Program Execution & Reporting: Oversee the execution of multiple concurrent digital transformation projects. Provide regular status updates and reporting to executive leadership, highlighting progress, key issues, and recommended actions.
  • Methodology & Best Practices: Ensure that all projects follow established project management methodologies and best practices. Advocate for continuous improvement in PMO processes, tools, and templates to improve program delivery.
  • Consultation & Expertise: Provide expert consultation on digital transformation initiatives across the organization, helping guide the technical, business, and process elements of complex projects.
  • Team Development & Mentorship: Mentor and develop program managers and project managers within the PMO, helping them grow their skills and advance in their careers. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the PMO team.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 7+ years of experience in program or project management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing a PMO.
    • Proven experience leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Skills & Expertise:
    • Deep understanding of digital transformation technologies and methodologies, including cloud computing, automation, and enterprise system integration.
    • Strong experience in risk management, project delivery, and process improvement.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
    • Expertise in program and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Project, Asana).
    • Solid understanding of project management frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Preferred:
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar project management certifications.
    • Experience working with digital transformation platforms or tools (e.g., ERP systems, CRM platforms, data analytics tools).
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and continuous integration/deployment methodologies.

  • Process Improvement: Focused on continuous improvement of PMO processes, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and meet organizational needs.
