Role Description

The primary focus of this team in Ireland involves managing international sourcing contract activities on a global scale. It plays a pivotal role in the global operation of Pharmaceutical & Specialty Solution segment in Cardinal Health.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a global leader in the healthcare industry and help strengthen its global presence.

The Advisor of Accounting & Finance is responsible for providing support on maintaining the financial books and records and preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Assists in the management of the monthly financial close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and performing timely review of results for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP
  • Complete account reconciliations in accordance with company policies
  • Support statutory account preparation and internal and external audits
  • Complete quarterly SEC reporting packages
  • Perform key controls
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for local operations
  • Support changes in processes, systems. new business initiatives
  • Review and monitor income statement activity
  • Research intercompany out-of-balances
  • Support cash settlement process
  • Provide audit support
  • Performs regular review of accounting processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing under an appropriate control environment 
  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives 
  • Performs special projects and financial analysis to support the business needs as requested
  • Possesses the relevant experiences and capabilities to identify, research, evaluate, conclude on, and document both technical GAAP matters and operational accounting issues. 
  • Is able to communicate effectively and efficiently to all levels within the organization.  Adapts approach to the situation and audience.  Possesses learning agility and strong presentation skills.  Is adept at navigating the organization to identify the appropriate audience for communications. 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

  • 4+ years’ experience in related field 
  • Experience in public accounting and/or large multinational companies experience preferred 
  • Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Chartered Accountant (CAI)/ CPA preferred 
  • Proficiency in identifying technical accounting issues
