In our commitment to delivering high quality products and services, Fullsteam is currently seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer in Canada to help the US based quality team test Fullsteam’s payment processing platform from a Canadian province. The QA Engineer’s responsibilities will include working within Fullsteam’s payment processing platform to perform regression testing, new feature sprint testing, sanity testing and/or risk-based testing with the main focus related to Canadian processing, while collaborating and communicating with the other members of the US based quality assurance, and development teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain detailed test cases from requirements and user stories.
- Perform analysis and design test cases in lieu of detailed requirements.
- Execute manual test cases, including regression, sanity, and risk-based testing plans.
- Test web applications and credit card capture terminals as it pertains to Canadian processing.
- Conducts testing from Canadian province to validate Credit Card, Debit Card (Interac) transactions.
- Performs API testing using tools such as Postman/SoapUI.
- Document and communicate detailed bug reports, including defect analysis and tracking.
- Collaborate with internal teams and business unit stakeholders, providing regular updates on testing progress and results.
- Ensure all testing aligns with Canadian payment processing requirements and regulations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of software testing principles, including regression, sanity, and risk-based testing.
- Proficiency in manual testing and experience with creating and maintaining test cases.
- Ability to analyze and test systems with minimal documentation or detailed requirements.
- Hands-on experience with web applications, credit card capture terminals, and backend system testing.
- Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams verbally and in writing.
- Thrives in an agile environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and defect analysis skills.
- Familiarity with Canadian payment systems, including Credit Card and Interac transactions.
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities, taking ownership of assigned projects and deadlines.
- Enjoys mentoring junior quality assurance engineers, sharing best practice and insights.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including testing web applications and backend systems.
- Hands-on experience with Canadian payment processing, including Credit Card and Interac Debit Card testing.
- Proficiency in test case creation, execution, and maintenance.
- Experience with API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
- Expertise in relational databases, queries and stored procedures
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute regression, sanity, and risk-based testing plans.
- Familiarity Azure Dev Ops/Jira or similar tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in the financial tech or payments industry.
- Knowledge of Canadian payment processing regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks or tools is an asset.
- ISTQB Certification or equivalent.
