As Senior Economist – CPG, you’ll be the expert partner for econometric modeling and forecasting, focusing on the unique demands and opportunities within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. This role empowers customers to improve decision-making by leveraging predictive analytics and external data tailored to the specific challenges of the CPG sector. You’ll deliver actionable insights, guide strategic planning, and help customers unlock measurable value through Board’s platform.
Collaborating closely with the Customer Experience Director, you will integrate predictive analytics and CPG-specific insights into customer planning processes, ensuring seamless delivery and ongoing value realization.

Key Responsibilities:

Econometric Modeling & Insights
  • Develop and deliver predictive econometric models and forecasts to improve customer planning accuracy, with a focus on the CPG industry.
  • Utilize advanced techniques such as time series regression to generate actionable business insights tailored to the unique needs of CPG.
  • Create executive readouts, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate results.
Product Development & Innovation
  • Apply deep expertise in economic theory and modeling to identify opportunities for innovation, driving enhancements to Board’s software platform.
  • Act as Product Owner for your domain, collaborating with engineering, customer experience, and product management teams to shape feature roadmaps.
  • Continuously integrate customer feedback, industry best practices, and cutting-edge data sources into the platform’s design to enhance usability, scalability, and strategic impact.
Thought Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise
  • Serve as Board’s expert in economic modeling, providing insights and guidance to customers, prospects, partners, and internal teams.
  • Represent Board at conferences, workshops, and industry events, particularly within CPG-related forums.
  • Contribute to case studies, white papers, blog posts, and other content to demonstrate the value of economic insights in the CPG sector.
  • Assist in creating tailored training materials and resources to enhance customer enablement.
Customer Collaboration & Value Delivery
  • Partner with sales, customer experience, and implementation teams to ensure customers achieve maximum value from Board solutions.
  • Guide customers in applying economic trends and data to address business challenges within the CPG space.
  • Support customers throughout their journey, from initial engagement to model delivery and expansion opportunities.

Qualifications:
  • CPG Expertise: Proven experience with the unique dynamics, challenges, and opportunities within the CPG industry.
  • Econometric Expertise: Mastery of economic modeling, forecasting, and analysis techniques using external data.
  • Strategic Communication: Ability to distill complex economic insights into actionable recommendations for business leaders.
  • Thought Leadership: Proven ability to represent your expertise through speaking engagements, written content, and workshops.
  • Consultative Approach: Skilled at advising and collaborating with Fortune 500 business leaders, particularly within CPG.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in programming languages like R, Python, or VBA, with experience using data from sources like the US Census Bureau, BLS, and the Federal Reserve.
Additional Requirements:
  • Proven experience in predictive econometric modeling and business consulting, with a track record of success in the CPG sector.
  • Academic background in Economics (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
  • Passion for helping companies realize the value of economic insights at both macroeconomic and microeconomic levels.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
