Mineral Economist (Mining Financial Analyst)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mineral Economist (Mining Financial Analyst) to join our team. This role involves developing cash-flow models, conducting economic evaluations of mineral projects, and creating dashboards to present key financial metrics. Combining economic expertise with mining industry dynamics, you will play a pivotal role in supporting decision-making and strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret data for mining projects, including feasibility studies, financial statements, and operational data.
• Build and maintain detailed cash-flow models to support economic evaluations of mining projects.
• Design and deliver interactive dashboards in Excel to present economic data and key metrics.
• Develop visual tools to effectively communicate complex data to stakeholders.
• Present findings and economic forecasts to management and stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.

Requirements:

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a relevant field.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Economics (preferred).
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in the mining industry.
• Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience with Excel Dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of cash-flow modeling and economic analysis.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Tableau is preferred.
  • Some experience with Python would be a bonus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent searching skills.
  • Time management and multitasking skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Languages:
  • Fluency in English.
