Role:                                 Senior Data Engineer

Experience Level:           3-6 Years

Work location:                Remote / Mumbai & Bangalore

We are looking for an experienced support engineer with expertise in data for production support role, who can help provide support & resolution to the issues raised wrt to the web application.  In this role, you will be responsible for  understanding the existing application developed, communicating with the clients to understand their issues, and supporting the same functionally by debugging the issues, providing resolution for the same and enhancing the existing functionalities. Please note this is a 24*7 support with 8 hr shifts.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the application, ensuring the seamless integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of the application solutions. As a Support Engineer, you will troubleshoot and resolve application system issues, and provide technical support to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the application.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for the application by appropriate debugging & resolving issues of highly scalable and cost-efficient AWS based web applications based ETL/ELT pipeline

• Troubleshoot and resolve data warehousing and data modeling issues in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders

• Analyze logs and metrics to identify and diagnose performance bottlenecks for the application and security vulnerabilities wrt databases

• Contribute to continuous improvement through proactive monitoring & performance optimization

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and Domain specialists

• Document technical tasks and procedures to ensure consistent operation and knowledge transfer

Technical skills: 

Programming - Python Programming, SQL based programming through stored procedures

AWS based data services - Glue, S3, Lambda, RDS, Step Functions, Kinesis, DMS

Warehousing - AWS Redshift

Must have

• Proven knowledge & experience working on SQL databases like Postgresql, experience working on storing and processing data in Redshift, knowledge of stored procedures, views, materialized views

• Proven experience as a data engineer or similar role, preferably within a support or production environment

• Readiness to work in shifts for a 24x7 Production support environment

• Proficiency in AWS data related services like Glue, Lambda, Redshift, DMS, RDS, Kinesis, S3 etc and basic AWS architecture best practices

• Good knowledge of building ETL pipelines by pulling data using APIs

• Understand architecture requirements and ensure effective development, validation, and support activities.

• Good knowledge of working with Python Programming and big data technologies like PySpark

• Good knowledge of  HTML5, CSS and Material UI

• Ability to identify issues quickly in existing applications and provide resolutions for the same

• Ability to collaborate with required cross-functional teams such as developers, devops teams, data engineers, QA, Project Managers, clients and other stakeholders 

Good to have

• Familiarity of working with NoSQL databases can be add on

• Knowledge of BI tools

• Knowledge of working with streaming pipelines

• Knowledge of schema design for OLAP and OLTP

• Familiarity with cloud best practices and incident response procedures 

• Active participation in troubleshooting development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms
