We are looking for an ARS CIP Compliance Specialist who will play a key role in the organization’s ability to meet its Alberta Reliability Standards (ARS) obligations with respect to Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards. 


This role helps ensure that ENMAX Power’s ARS CIP program meets applicable legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of EPC’s ARS program CIP initiatives, including working with stakeholders to develop compliance programs

  • Monitor and track regulatory activities and ARS Program materials

  • Maintain accurate and organized evidence that meets internal and regulator specifications

  • Support the annual ARS self-certification and ARS audit process, including preparation of audit material as required by regulators, internal policies, standards, and procedures

  • Enhance ARS awareness by communicating with Operating Personnel on a regular basis and assisting with any questions that relate to the programs

  • Design, conduct, and evaluate training and awareness activities for ARS CIP Programs

  • Interface with other ENMAX business units to integrate ARS CIP efforts and strategies

  • Manage internal and external relationships to ensure effective working relationships for compliance efforts

  • Assist with root cause analysis and investigations as needed, with a focus on human performance

Education Required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, IT, Business or in a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience in compliance and/or utility roles

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum five years of related experience

  • Experience in compliance/regulatory program development and implementation

  • Understanding of the Alberta regulatory environment

  • Experience with compliance and/or regulatory programs, such as ARS

  • Utility knowledge/experience (asset)

  • Working knowledge of document management systems such as SharePoint or similar systems.

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Power-point, and Excel)

  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action programs (asset)

Competencies:

  • Effectively communicate regulatory and technical information

  • Ability to develop and implement procedures that facilitate ARS program

  • Experience in technical writing

  • Highly organized with attention to detail

Location:  This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
