Position Overview

As we prepare for our next stage of growth, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal to ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, and reporting to the Finance Director.

The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with IFRS, and supporting the financial close process. The role requires a strong technical accounting background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Financial Accounting and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.

• Accounts Receivable:

  • Monitor the automatic generation and dispatch of customer invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Oversee the automatic allocation of customer collections to receipts via bank integration, resolving any discrepancies.

• Inventory Accounting:

  • Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.

  • Collaborate with operations to ensure proper tracking of inventory movements and adjustments.

  • Assist in periodic inventory counts and resolve discrepancies.

• Audit and Compliance:

  • Support the company in its annual audit process, providing required documentation and responding to auditor queries.

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other statutory requirements in the Netherlands.

  • Stay updated on IFRS standards and propose necessary changes to ensure compliance.

• Public Funding Reporting:

  • Manage financial reporting related to grants and public funding, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to funding agencies.

  • Maintain proper documentation to support claims and audits related to public funding.

• Intercompany:

  • Reconcile intercompany balances and assist in managing working capital.

• Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes and systems.

  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller to implement best practices.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including procurement, sales, and operations, to ensure alignment on financial matters.

  • Provide financial insights and support to business units as needed.

Qualifications:

• Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certification, such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent, is a plus).

• Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a fast-growing tech or semiconductor environment.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local Dutch accounting standards.

  • Experience supporting audit processes is essential.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Familiarity with automation tools for finance processes is a plus.

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to improving processes and systems.

Location

We offer a flexible working arrangement, with options to: 

• Relocate with us and work from Amsterdam or Eindhoven in the Netherlands, or Bologna, Florence or Milan in Italy. 

• Work from one of our Axelera AI offices (Leuven in Belgium, Amsterdam and Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Zurich in Switzerland, Florence and Milan in Italy or Bristol in the United Kingdom) if you're already based in the vicinity.
