Job description

 

Job Purpose:

 

Achieve new business revenue, conversion, and profitability targets through managing regional broker relationships and the commercial underwriting of new business applications. Serves as an in-region resource for renewal relationships when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Reach targets of portfolio growth and quality

  • Quote and convert new business applications
  • Ensure EH technical underwriting standards are upheld to ensure long-term profitability and quality of customer portfolio
  • Maintain proper balance between commercial and underwriting objectives for profitable growth
  • Assist broker partners with the onboarding of new policies
  • Manage, develop and maintain key broker and customer relationships
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plan
  • Schedule regular pipeline calls with regional producers
  • Identify “win-back” cases from lost quotes and non-renewed policies
  • Serve as in-region Broker Management resource for support of renewal policies, when needed.

Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure growth objectives are met.  For instance:

  • Manage Hot Deals process with Risk Underwriting
  • Work with Risk Underwriting to maximize approvals for all submissions
  • XoL/Non-Can team to discuss Hybrid/Full Non-Can proposals when required
 
Key Requirements:
 
•Bachelor’s Degree in related field
•3 + years’ trade credit commercial underwriting or sales experience
•Proven ability to generate new business opportunities and convert them into profitable long-term relationships  
•Ability to build strong relationships with broker producers located in region which results in strong new business production
•Intermediate knowledge of Compass, Copernicus and IRP

Market knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge and expertise of trade credit insurance industry
  • Build strong and trusting ties with brokers, internal departments

Leadership behavior:

  • Ability to convert broker submissions in highly competitive market
  • Foster strong regional new business development via expertise
  • Utilize insightful and consultative sales approach and be viewed as trusted advisor for broker partners

Compensation range:

$127,316-$180,434

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
