Relief MOT Tester Technician

HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a Relief MOT Tester Technician to join our team covering the South Region. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm – half a day finish on a Saturday, with a guide salary from £35,000 plus Bonus and Company Van.

What you will be doing as a Relief MOT Tester Technician:

• As a regional role, you will be expected to be hands on and available to support our technicians, fitters, mechanics and MOT testers in the workshops across your region.
• To cover holidays and sickness within your region.
• Work on all makes and models of vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.
• Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems.
• Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with DVLA requirements.
• Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding any issues found.
• Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and testing procedures.
• Carry out MOT Quality Control.
• Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices.
• Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard
• To undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store.
• To carry out administration duties as required within the store.
• Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy.

Overnight travel will be a requirement

What you will need:

• At least 5 years’ experience within a in a fast-fit car centre or a recognised vehicle franchise dealership.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Have held a valid MOT Tester licence for at least 2 years.
• Vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience.
• Must have a full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points.
• Team Leader experience.
• Be a mentor to the teams on MOT and technical issues.
• Ensure a fantastic customer experience whilst driving sales.
