Controller

Our client, a leading marketing and technology consulting firm, seeks an experienced Controller to manage complex financial operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role requires experience in a high-volume, multi-client environment, ideally within an agency, consulting firm, or project-based business. Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM - 5 PM EST

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight: Manage financial operations across multiple client accounts, each functioning as sub-accounts with distinct billing and revenue considerations.

• Accounts Payable Management: Oversee extensive vendor relationships, ensuring accuracy and compliance in payment processing.

• Revenue and Billing Coordination: Work closely with account managers who function as executives over client relationships, ensuring proper reporting and financial accountability.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop financial forecasts and budgets tailored to an agency business model, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

• GAAP Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and adhere to tax regulations.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying insights to support business decision-making.

• Process Optimization: Improve financial systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy in high-volume transactions.

• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with leadership, account managers, and external auditors to maintain financial transparency and compliance.

• Optimized Accounts Payable: Efficient management of vendor payments, reducing errors and delays.

• Strategic Budgeting & Forecasting: Data-driven financial planning that supports company growth and profitability.

• Regulatory Compliance: Full adherence to GAAP standards and US tax codes, minimizing risk and ensuring financial integrity.

• Improved Financial Systems: Enhanced workflows and processes that streamline accounting operations and improve efficiency.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in financial management, accounting, or a controller role.

• Strong proficiency with Quickbooks, or similar accounting software.

• Experience in an agency, consulting firm, or project-based business is highly preferred.

• Strong understanding of US accounting principles (GAAP) and familiarity with the US tax code is highly advantageous
