Job description

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable / Credit professional to lead our amazing Accounts Receivable team, ensuring that our debtors are commercially maintained while ensuring losses are minimised and that we are improving recoveries. Based at our APAC Finance HQ at Northgate and reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will enjoy working in a complex business that focuses on its people and our passion for the veterinary industry.

Your responsibilities will include –

  • People leadership of a team of five Credit and Accounts Receivable professionals, ensuring that learning and professional development plans are in place, performance reviews are undertaken and that the team is achieving its objectives.
  • Devising, maintaining and administering the organisations credit policy.
  • Overseeing the credit control function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding amounts.
  • Weekly cash flow forecasting to meet cash flow expectations.
  • Monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting associated with aged and doubtful debts.
  • Maintaining relationships with major debtors and external debt agencies as well as assessing/implementing potential policy/procedural changes.
  • Managing authorisations of new accounts, credit terms etc.
  • Take lead role in process improvement projects, engaging necessary internal stakeholders.

About You

Ideally you will display –

  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, overseeing an Accounts Receivable/Credit team within a large environment.
  • Demonstrated experience within a commercial collections environment where you have maintained relationships with both large corporate customers and smaller accounts.
  • A strong understanding of local legislation relating to credit control.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and reporting.
  • Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication style to suit different internal stakeholders.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your work in an agile way.
