Job description

Overview

The Business Development Support Specialist’s role is to facilitate Independent Agency (IA) processes, manage the IA database in Salesforce, and provide support to partner IAs ensuring proper systems set-up, responding to questions and requests, and maintaining relationships.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinate and oversee the appointment, licensing, and onboarding process for IAs

  • Provide training to all new IA’s in the areas including setting up Acceptance in their rater, navigating our application portal, how to deliver applications via DocuSign and from the portal, our underwriting guidelines, how to send trailing documents to underwriting and how to manage their existing customer with endorsements and payments.

  • Day to Day partnering with the Business Development team and other leaders across the organization: Underwriting, Claims, Treasury, IT, Agency Operations, and other Sales channels.

  • Provide IA support via phone and email to assist with writing new business and retaining policies by providing instruction on our E signature process, processing endorsements, and explaining the necessary documentation required.

  • Ensure data integrity within the Salesforce database by ensuring agency specific information, i.e., banking information, commission rates, as well as other agency information is complete and accurate.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for insurance products, processes, and underwriting guidelines.  Provide direction on inquiries, issues, and compliance matters.

  • Review production and quality trends to identify outliers around high loss ratio, app to MVR ratio or other quality issues.  Look at production trends and identify issues that may need management involvement

  • Conduct routine courtesy calls to IA to ensure company needs are met and satisfied.

  • Document actions and communications with each IA in Salesforce

  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Acceptance products and processes, as well as 3-5 years of experience working in the auto insurance industry

  • Possess demonstrated industry knowledge to resolve complaints and issues as they arise from customers and team members.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional acumen with tact and diplomacy

  • Strong partnership skills

  • Bilingual skill strongly preferred

  • Be solution oriented and display independent decision making and accountability

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience with Salesforce and DocuSign strongly preferred

  • Advanced skills in MS office applications, project management, etc.
