This position manages team members in North America and Europe and is remote within the US!

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Leader to oversee and guide a team of Business Development Managers (BDM) in building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in account management, leadership, and strategic planning. They will work to ensure the team’s success in meeting and exceeding bookings goals, client satisfaction metrics, and overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BDM’s providing guidance on project pursuit, client management and AVL/OEM spec penetration strategies.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

  • Set individual and team goals, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.

  Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow existing accounts, gain access to AVL’s and influence OEM specifications.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Product Management, Operations, Legal, Application Engineering) to ensure seamless client support.

  • Lead the team in building and executing customized account plans to meet client and company objectives.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as an escalation point for high-priority client issues and ensure prompt resolution.

  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key accounts.

  • Promote a client-first approach across the team to drive loyalty and long-term partnerships.

  Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and analyze team performance metrics, including AVL/spec penetration, bookings growth and door crossings

  • Own team forecasting and any necessary reporting to management on achievements and challenges

  • Use insights from data to identify targets, adjust strategies and improve outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, PLM’s and Vertical Market Managers to align account strategies with organizational goals.

  • Advocate for client needs and feedback to drive improvements in products and services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in account management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of strategic account planning, sales processes, and EPC/Licensor role in project pursuit

  • Proven ability to manage and grow key accounts, meet revenue targets, and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions.

  • Experience with CRM tools and MS Office
